Industrial And
Distribution Snow Removal
Trailer yards, dock aprons and shipping lanes have to stay open while the site is running. We plan the work around your shifts and your truck traffic, not around ours.
An Industrial Yard Is Not A Parking Lot
A warehouse or distribution site runs on trucks arriving on a schedule. A blocked dock apron or a drifted trailer row does not just inconvenience people, it stops shipping and receiving and backs up the yard within the hour.
These sites are also large, open and exposed. Snow drifts across the yard long after the storm, there is rarely enough room to pile a full winter of snow, and the work has to happen while trucks are still moving through.
We handle industrial sites with loaders and pushers rather than pickup plows, we clear in a priority order agreed with your yard supervisor, and we haul snow off site before the piles start eating trailer spots.
What We Clear
- Dock aprons, dock doors and trailer parking
- Shipping and receiving lanes
- Yard roadways, gate approaches and guard houses
- Employee parking and shift-change walkways
- Fire routes and emergency exits
- Truck scale approaches and fuel islands
- Waste and compactor pads
- Office entrances, sidewalks and visitor parking
Clearing Priority
The order is agreed with your yard supervisor before the season and written into the service plan. This is the order most distribution sites choose.
| Area | Why it comes first | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|
| Dock aprons | Trailers cannot back in and doors cannot open until the apron is cleared to pavement and treated. | First pass, before shift start |
| Shipping lanes | Keeps trucks moving between the gate and the docks so the yard does not back up. | First pass, then as needed |
| Gate and guard house | A blocked gate holds every arriving truck on the road outside. | First pass |
| Fire routes | Must stay passable at all times. Not negotiable regardless of the event. | Maintained throughout |
| Employee lot and walkways | Cleared and salted ahead of the shift change so staff are not walking on ice. | Timed to your shift schedule |
| Trailer parking | Cleared in sections as trailers move, so empty rows are done without disturbing loaded ones. | Through the event and after |
| Snow storage | Piles are placed clear of sightlines, hydrants and drains, and hauled out before they take trailer spots. | Monitored all season |
Working Around Your Operation
Pre-Season Site Walk
We walk the yard with your supervisor before the first snowfall. Shift times, gate hours, dock numbers, pile locations, drains and hydrants all go on the site map.
Clearing While You Run
Crews work in sections around live traffic, in radio contact with each other and with your yard staff. Operators are trained to work near trailers, dock levellers and pedestrians.
Storage And Hauling
Snow is pushed to the agreed storage areas and tracked through the season. When those fill, loaders and dump trucks haul it off site so you do not lose parking to snow piles.
