Mississauga Is Four Different Winter Problems

Mississauga is not one property type. The Airport Corporate Centre and the Gateway lands behind Pearson are tight office and hotel sites with constant traffic. The Dixie, Britannia and Meadowvale employment areas are large industrial yards with trailers parked overnight. Heartland is high-volume retail. City Centre is towers, garage ramps and resident parking.

Each of those needs a different machine and a different time of night. We clear the industrial yards around shift changes, the retail lots before the stores open, and the condominium ramps and walkways first, because the people on those properties are walking to their cars in the dark.

The other difference is the weather. Mississauga sits low and close to Lake Ontario, so it gets more freezing rain and wet, heavy snow than the north end of Peel, and more freeze-thaw cycles through the season. Ice control matters as much here as plowing does.

How A Mississauga Site Runs

01

Site Map

We walk the property before the season and mark the clearing order, the pile locations, the catch basins and anything that must not be hit.

02

Dispatch

Crews go out on the forecast, not on your phone call. Lake-effect and freezing rain events get an earlier start than a dry snowfall.

03

Records

Every plow, salt and site check is logged and GPS tracked. The record is yours for your files and for any insurance inquiry.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far into Mississauga do you go?
All of it, from the Etobicoke Creek boundary through to Winston Churchill. Most of our Mississauga work is industrial and retail property in the east and central employment areas.
Does Mississauga get less snow than Brampton?
Usually a little less, and more of it falls as freezing rain or wet snow because the city sits lower and closer to the lake. That makes ice control the bigger risk here, not snowfall totals.
Do you clear condominium garage ramps?
Yes. Ramps, visitor parking and resident walkways are treated first on condominium sites, and the ramp is salted on every visit because it holds meltwater and refreezes overnight.
Can you quote several Mississauga properties at once?
Yes, and a portfolio usually prices better than a single site because the route can be built around it. Send the addresses and we will price them together.
Are you insured for commercial work in Mississauga?
We carry $5 million commercial general liability insurance and WSIB coverage. Certificates and clearance are issued to your organization with every proposal.
